Assuming the M line will see Mk II, II, etc iterations going forward, what M model do you see yourself favoring going forward?

A future M3 Mk II will be very welcome in my bag as long as size is kept the same as the current M3.

The M5 appears to be the M3m2.  Frankly, the M3 has enough marketing stigma that it likely is a dead model designation.

Perhaps in the west or more presicly amoungst camera reviewers that may be true. But in Japan at least the M3 is viewed favorably amoung most folks I meet. Just yesterday a coworker asked if I was using the M3 and that he planned on getting one He was not intetested in the M10 or M5. Last week I saw yet another CM on television for it.

I have an M3.  While I like the photos I do not like the UI.  It is different and less friendly than my 7DII.  I hope the M5 is close to the UI of the 80D.

I think it depends on what the Mark II versions end up looking like.  Personally, I would prefer an M10 II with a hotshoe and the performance of an M5.  Basically an M2 II.

Realistically the M10, because I'm not going to spend $700+ on a camera body. The faster autofocus is really tempting now that I have a little one zooming around the house, though. I'm still making do with the original M, which still takes fantastic pictures, by the way. I just end up having to throw out a lot of them when the kiddo is in motion, but that doesn't mean I don't get plenty of keepers too, like this one.

Re: M10, M3, and M5 users.

As I don´t need Viewfinder, I would like to see updated M3 with M5 features and HW, but if there is no option, I´ll propably surf on the M5 line.

And don´t forget, that it´s highly likely, we´re going to get M7 and M1 line

Guess I am the opposite of you, I would never buy a camera without a viewfinder.  I just can not take photographs holding my camera like a dirty diaper.

That´s not how I use it most of the time. Often I need to position it in the space where my head won´t also fit, or it is on tripod. Very few shots- generally snapshots, are made in a way/stance you mentioned.

Guess I am different from you, I do not hold dirty diapers no more than a foot from my face as I hold the M when taking photo's.

Funny. I've gotten use to it but definitely prefer using the EVF with anything beyond 85mm or using adapted legacy lenses with peaking.
