Very interesting. when I was road racing cycles back in the mid-70's one of the guys who raced with us was a former German grass champion, a variation of Grasstrack called Longtrack which used the same speedway types bikes on longer tracks with top speeds up to 100 MPH or more.

Hi. Nice shots.

You knew you would get asked this question didn't you… is the lens pre-focussed on a point, or did you use C-AF? If C-AF what was the success rate? Or is it some other technique?

Many thanks

Paul

Very nice.

I would have cropped a bit more if I were you.

Nice action shots.  This type of racing looks like a lot of fun to watch, photograph and also be a participant.

I used AF-A mode, I found AF-C a bit sluggish.

Thank you.

I agree I could have cropped in a bit more but last time I was there I had lots of frame filling shots from a different camera and this time I wanted to pull back a bit and get some group action - unfortunately the group action looked like this:

So if you want a series of photos showing lots of mud and dust I'm yer man! 😜

Fine pics! 50-135 is my most beloved lens and I have taken thousands of incredible shoots with it
