Why would you not buy EOS M5?

Re: Why would you not buy EOS M5?

Why? Hmm. Limited funds to keep up with every new model and the almost constant change. Price seems a bit high, and not really interested in buying more new lenses. Wonder about the performance with the adapter. Maybe when the price drops and the lens adapter works well then I might consider a future purchase. I almost bought an Olympus omd 10 II but the prices for better lenses, which I already have, made that idea a non- starter even though I like the smaller, lighter package. For that, I just go to my SL1. A future purchase (M6?) would require 4K video. Not an issue now, because I have a very good HD camcorder and no 4K TV and no desire to buy one until 4K content and delivery is the standard, or mine dies. My .02

Because it's Canon...

I don't mean that in a bad way.  I would not buy the M5 because I do not own any Canon lenses.  I own Nikon, some Sony Alpha and a lot of MFT, but no Canon.  So to use the M5 I would have to buy into a new system, which makes no sense for me.

The M5 is, no doubt, very attractive to Canon owners, as it should be.  The only thing I see missing from the camera (for me) is 4K video.  I say Canon has finally brought out a decent mirrorless entry, so well done.  Nikon, the ball is now in your court.

Yes, because it is Canon, I am interested in purchasing it.

In many ways, some cameras may be better than M5 already. Truly they are very interesting, but they cannot be my target because I am too timid to move to another territory.

I should have added one more thing. "Not fullframe"

Exactly!

Maybe the coming "6D Mark II" will be the fullframe mirrorless?
