Back to Samsung NX

Yep after my NX2000 failed to accept MicroSd Cards and repairs too expensive.

Went out an bough a "Gently Used" NX100 to use with the 20-5mm, 20mm prime, & 50-200 Zoom.

And as the only Samsung NX Cameras I have owned were Infrared, NOW I have to learn the game all over again. LOL

Cheers for years

Re: Back to Samsung NX

Thank you both,

This has been a hair raising two weeks or so of trying to repair the MicroSD card slot spring in my recent NX2000 with just over 400 Shutter count.

Even put the three lenses up for Sale on Kijiji in Canada, then realized what the heck maybe another NX Camera would be in order (but not a NX2000 LOL)

Although we have still a few from the NX2000 to play with too. Pity it's battery could not be used with the NX 100 as a spare.

Would love the Samsung EVF10 Viewfinder but that right now is just a little top pricey for here in Canada.

Now it is off to download the NX100 User Manual again before the camera arrives from Miami Florida.

What a pity,

Well as you already given up, I would try to fix the problem on the NX 2000 with generations old procedure that works in printing industry.

Try to force hold the card in the slot by pushing a top of a wooden tooth pikes in the slot.

If it stays, chop the remaiminig wood with a nail clipper or whatever.

If it works, don't push your luck and access your card only with the USB to the camera.

WOW what an "Out of the Blue" remedy - Hilarious" may even give that a try of Course with the 2GD card NOT the 32GB

Will get back to the Forum as right now just have nothing to loose with the NX2000

Well Hilariously tried that. Without the tooth Pic - and now it said "Card Error" after trimming the top off the 2GB MicroSD Card Lol.

NOT uptight after losing this card as there is a 32GB on board with it's SD Adapter

Why not a NX300? They sell as much as 200$CAD, or even less, and are vastly better than older models.

I couldn't agree more. The NX100 was my first NX camera but it doesn't do well unless very low ISOs are used. The NX300 is substantially better in almost every way if the OP really want an EVF, the NX30 is better still. Unlike the NX20's fixed EVF, the one on the NX30 can be pulled back and then rotated up, making it easy to shoot ground level closeups. The EVF has a very high resolution, much better the the grainy EVF that was made as an NX100 accessory.

I realize that the OP said that he doesn't have a lot of money to spend but it would be well worth saving up and eventually upgrading to an NX300 or an NX30. I bought a used NX30 with the 18-55mm stabilized lens for about $350 from B&H. It was in very good condition and they sold several at about that price. For the last several months the price for a kit with the same lens has gone up about $100.

Trimming the top off the 2GB MicroSD Card??.

Why would you do this?

Any way if it is a "card error" than the camera has a bigger problem than just that spring.

Re: Back to Samsung NX

Thank you All

I came to the conclusion it needed a manufacturer repair so gave that a miss as the nearest outlet in Calgary Alberta does not do them anymore.

As for the NX300 went looking but still settled on the NX100 as the way I Post Process Pics includes several different Plugins. While the US$350 from B&H would have to be converted to C$, so will leave the NX300 or NX500 for when Used prices come further down.
