Well given that you currently only shoot from 14-23mm, I think you'd be fine with the X100T and converter.

Honestly though, I think the problem is your lens choice. You have too many lenses with similar focal lengths. It's quite obvious that the best lens at that focal length (given your keeper rate) is the X100T. Sell the other two (XF 23/1.4 and Rokinon 21/1.4) and purchase a zoom or a short tele like the XF 56/1.2. That will give you two cameras with two different purposes.

Actually, my lens choice is what I like and use after 60 years of shooting with primes. I started out with 50mm lenses because they were the kit lenses at one time and gravitated to 35mm lenses. With Fuji, anything I bought longer than 23mm has gone largely unused and then sold. The 23mm is a replacement for the Rokinon and my  intent is to sell the Rokinon and just go with the 14mm and 23mm. As for zooms, I have nothing against them but I discovered I'm just not a zoom guy. When I had my E-M10, I bought the Olympus 12-40 f2.8 Pro and the Panasonic 35-100mm f2.8. They were the only lenses I used for six months. My biggest problem was I still kept zooming with my feet, plus like my other long lenses, the 35-100mm saw very little use.

But, if I buy, the X100T again, I will put the X-E2 kit on the shelf and when I'm sure the X100T alone, works for me, I will sell everything. --

I use the X100S as my every day go to camera. I miss being able to use a zoom, but more than that I miss good AF. Great camera, but doesn't really do it for me.

I actually have an X70 as my P&S camera to back up my X-T1. I wouldn't have the X70 as my only camera but I would take it on a holiday as my only camera. However if the holiday was a major one i.e. a trip to NZ from the UK instead of Spain, I would take both!! Quality wise, the RAW files from each camera are identical.

If I could only have one camera it would be an X-100. I still have the original and may get a T after the new model is announced.

Having sold off the rest of my gear when I was laid off the X100 (original) is the only camera I own and shoot.

Despite its slow and often inaccurate AF, I enjoy using it.

Yes - I shoot all my work with X100 kit and have done so since the first one came out. It’s liberating. 90% of the images in my last project - images I took across Greece, shot over six years - were done with an X100 series camera.

Unless you shoot very specialist subjects, depending on just an X100 camera is very possible (and, I’d argue, good for your photography too).

I had a X100s and loved it so much I sold all my Nikon gear including the X100s and bought the X100t. I have not looked back.

I wrote a blog about the various cameras I have had over the years and how I came to my decision.

Got the X100T, So for now...

First, I wanted to thank everyone for their thoughtful feedback and opinions.

I just bought a used X100T from Ebay and should receive it by the end of next week, maybe sooner. So for now, I will put my X-E2 kit away until I'M sure the X100T is all I need or want for my photography.

I am considering selling my 14mm 2.8 and 23mm 1.4 while keeping the X-E2 and Rokinon 21mm f1.4 on the shelf or I may keep all three lenses for now. Either way, it is my intention to only use the X100T until I make a final decision.

I see that you've now got an X100T on order, but I thought I'd chip in with my thoughts on your original question, because I've been pondering that question ever since I bought an X100T six months or so ago, thinking it would become my go-to camera.  It hasn't and it isn't going to.

But having said that,  if in a different world, where no-one was allowed more than one camera with a 35mm equivalent fixed lens, then an X100T would be my choice - certainly over any of my APS-C Nikon DSLRs.

What I've enjoyed most in this thread is how many people have extolled using just one camera with a fixed FL lens - I think it's a brilliant paradox that something which sounds so limiting can actually be so liberating.  So I am definitely going to be imposing that discipline on myself (albeit with some flexibility still available not too far in the background!)

But rather than the X100T, I'm going to be using an X-T1 with 27/2.8.  A slightly bigger package, but the 40ish mm FL I think will suit me better.  But I'm not going to wear a hair shirt over it, especially as I have a CZJ 35/2.4 Flektogon + Fuji X adapter to see if the more common 50mm FL would suit me better.  If so, the decision then would be between the Fuji f/1.4 or  f/2.

I think you'll love your X100T.  Let us know how you get on with it.

I'm late too post also but..... I got the original X100 in 2012 and quickly abandoned all of my other gear. I just recently upgrade to the X100t. I toyed with the idea of getting an X Pro # but I have the TCL-x100 and barely use that! I feel like I thrive under creative restrictions. I have been doing some of my best work in the last 4 years and it feels easier/more fun than ever.

I know that when I look at my favorite photos that I took this year, almost all of them were taken with the X100T I had or with my X-E2 and Rokinon 21mm lens. That's what got me thinking that I sold the wrong camera and I would be better off just using a X100T.

So Bill, now that it's been a couple of months that you've been focusing on your new (2U) X100T as a possible "only" camera, what are your thoughts?
