NX1000 + 10mm Pancake in the Mountains
6

This little combo turned out to be a good option for hiking in the mountains. Some pictures.

Even a 10mm lens was not enough to capture this view. This is a pano made of 3 photos. Lightroom struggled to stitch them but it finally came up with this and I liked it - reminds me of an alien planet.

I really like the way you "see" with the 10mm lens.

I do have a question. In which of these images is the geometry straight out of camera and which have had distortion corrected in post? Getting a 10mm lens for my NX1 continues to be in the back of my mind.

Re: NX1000 + 10mm Pancake in the Mountains

Very nice, I didn't know that this camera is so capable.

The NX fish eye is another well kept secret, as it is super small and sharp. A lot of times I have this on my NX500 and the 45 on the NX1 and I am set! Pretty impressive for video too, as you have the GoPro effect, but with real quality and low light capabilities, plus H265 4K, plus plus!

I am wondering, which one of the NX cameras before the 3 series (3000/3300/300/30) are still relevant and offer good value for money...

Well done, and thanks for posting.

All images were corrected with the following plugin: https://www.imadio.com/products/prodpage_hemi.aspx

It is a simple 1-click correction that does a good enough job. I could have straighten some lines more but my goal was to preserve as much as possible in the frame.

Thank you for the comment. NX1000 has the same sensor as NX300 and produces great quality pictures. I think all NX camera with the 20mpx sensor give practically the same quality if shooting in RAW.

Very Good images but one question: why you use f14 - f18 with speed 60-100? the aperture above f8 is not good for sharpness in aps sensors and the optimal is f5,6-f8.
After all a so wide angle lens have very deep depth of field even with open aperture. I know the problem is in the corner with open apertures but f8-f11 is more than enough to correct this.
In the other hand is more pron to lost sharpness with so low speed 60.
I think is better to use f6,7-f9  with 250-400 speed.
Of course is just an opinion my friend and i tell you just to help.

Thank you for the suggestions. This is my first fish eye lens and I got it just few days before that trip. My goal was everything to be in focus without worrying too much about pixel level quality. None of the shots were carefully planned anyway - as a part of a group I had to keep up with the rest...
