What A Gem!

I bought this lens when I first added Canon to my existing Nikon equipment.  What a gem this is!  It's sharp wide open and sharper than my Nikon 35mm f/1.4G.  The best part of it is that it has IS.  Why can't Nikon think of this?  The 35mm f/2 w/IS + Canon 6D is the best combo for night/indoors photography.   This lens does not get a whole lot of attention may be because it's not an L lens, but in terms of performance and value, nothing can't beat that at the present time!

Re: What A Gem!

I love the 35mm FL and even though I already have the Sigma 35mm f1.4, which is arguably my favorite lens (and I have number of L lenses), I added the Canon 35mm f2 IS when I was going on a vacation this past spring for the lighter weight and smaller size and it didn't disappoint. It is my go to lens when I want to travel lighter locally or going on vacation. I use to take the Canon 50mm f1.4 around when I wanted a small and lighter kit, even though I didn't see much for the 50mm FL, but now the 35mm f2 IS has taken its place.
