This was the first time in my life I actually could have used something wider than a 28mm field of view, but I think the results were pretty decent. All shots handheld with a humble Olympus EPL6.

Very nice photos!  Nothing to complain about in the performance of you camera and lens/s used.  Love seeing the wear of re-entry stains on the body of the shuttle.  A magnificent flying contraption the likes of which we'll probably never see again.

Thanks for sharing!

Very nice shots. Were these taken at the new Air & Space Museum in Virginia? They have a Shuttle there, but I don't know which one.

These were photographed at the California Science Center in Los Angeles; immediately next door to the Memorial Colliseum.

Nice shots, thank you for sharing.

14 is indeed a lovely lens, AF at fantastic speed at such price. Unfortunately except for street snap shooting (put up overhead and shoot, no zoom, no focusing ....), I can't find its place for me....

The 14mm does have a focus ring. It's electronic and there are no distance markings, but it works for the things I use manual focus on.

Re: Space Shuttle Endeavor - Panasonic 14mm f2.5

Well the things one learns on the interwebs.

According to the all knowing Wikipedia, it is named after the British HMS Endeavour, after a national school competition for the naming.  Interesting article.

I live in the US.

I would have spelled it endeavour myself, but I am at odds on some words with the built in dictionary spell check. For example, right now, where I spelled endeavour, it has a red line under it , telling me it is misspelled, although I know it is not.

I learned to spell in the early sixties, so perhaps that has something to do with it.

I do spell color as color, not colour, and of course, now I can't think of any odd ones to demonstrate. I know the British spell some words such as "colour" with the extraneous "u".

"Flavour" comes to mind, I could spell it as flavor or flavour without batting an eye.

It is "flavor" here in ads, print,  etc.

Saviour,  Savior,  behaviour,  behavior, all the "our" conflicting with spell check.

I have looked up some words that I have had a conflict with spell check, and the "odd" spelling is usually noted as British spelling.

I remember growing up that more of these were correct spellings or noted as alternate spellings, not regional. It could be that my dictionaries were from the 40's, 50's and reflected an earlier period of our language.

Neat! I need to get down there and see her close up. Was able to catch the flyby when they delivered Endeavour so a trip to the museum would bookend that nicely. The only other shuttle I've seen was Enterprise, many years ago parked on an apron at Dulles.

That's a lot of stuff to keep in the air.

Cheers,

Rick

Re: Space Shuttle Endeavor - Panasonic 14mm f2.5

Oh, man...I am always at odds with spelling. Being a British ex-pat living in the US, I have a constant battle with the spell checker at work.

I can never bring myself to spell colour as color...much to the annoyance of my work colleagues

Great pictures by the way. Although I am a great admirer of the technology of the Shuttle program as a whole (and a great believer in space exploration as a whole), I am in the same corner as Carl Sagan in that he thought the program as a whole probably set man back in it's exploration towards the stars...as it's primary objective was commercial and not exploratory.
