I picked up an nx20 kit cheap to get my feet wet with the system.  Something told me to hold off on adding lenses and accessories, and I'm glad I listened.  I will probably be returning to Olympus.  Fuji is just too expensive for what you get and I want to stay in the mirrorless world and I stopped buying Sony decades ago.  Panasonic would be a good option but I like Olys feature set more.

As for me, since I've been shooting with a variety of other mirrorless options (i.e. Fuji X, Micro 43, and the Canon EOS M system), I've been spread between all of them. I still use my NX500, NX300, and NX30 often, but if the Samsung's were the only ones I bought into, I imagine I'd still be depressed about it all.

What are you doing now that all of this occurred...?

Use it until it dies.

It is indeed sad to see Samsung leave when they were at the top of their game, after releasing the NX1.  I did recently considering selling it and moving along but then I realised that there still isn't anything out there with the combination of stills and video IQ, speed (AF and general camera responsiveness), ergonomics, user friendliness and great pro zoom lenses.

The ergonomics of the NX1 makes it especially hard to replace for me.  I love the placement of the 2 main dials - one at the top and one near where your thumb rests, not hanging on the edge of the camera.  This combined with the shape of the grip makes it a pleasure to hold.  I don't like front dials because it encourages you to bend your wrist more and places pressure on it.  The only other grip and dial combination that I enjoy is the Olympus EM1.

The only thing that comes close in my books would be the Fuji XT-2, but the lack of a touchscreen and needing a vertical grip to unlock more power irks me...

I wonder what would happen to the market prices of samsung lenses 3-5 years from now.  I guess people's biggest concern is that their lenses will all cost dirt cheap couple yeers from now because there are no cameras to use them.  I wonder how the market will change for the cost of lenses in the future.

I Know that it Will tale some year to get there but i think Canon is going in the right direction For my approach to photo Gear. Meanwhile i hope to find some other nx Gear at a low Price but in the last year prices have only rised.

As said elsewhere, a t3 would be on par with nx1, perhaps. Fuji is the only other brand coming close.

Although it's early days, so far the prices seem to have remained quite stable. There may even have been a slight increase in the price of some, as the demand is currently higher than the supply - an example being the 85mm.

I'm not really that bothered about the future prices though, if the prices stay the same - great - I'll be able to sell them on IF I decide to switch. If the prices do come down then I'll probably snap up some of the lenses I don't have (s lenses and 12-24mm).

I am absolutely not bailng on the system because of the nx20.  I knew its imitations when I bought it.  I'm bailing because the system is dead and not worth investing in anymore.

I don't think any system is worth 'investing in' if by that you want to actually make money selling it on in the future.

using NX500 a lot, often in a small bag under my jacket.  Learning focusing at night clouds. And for trips around town. Got what I need for a long time. But if the 60 mm comes down to $300...

Yeh, "investing" is the wrong word to use when talking about mass produced camera gears.  It implies that you're expecting the value to appreciate and make a profit from it, which isn't really going to happen.  But we all know he means that the money will go further and provide more longevity if he buys into another system (lenses anyway).

I've been eyeballing the 60mm and 85mm myself but I can't justify putting more money into this.... =\

I'll just use my nx30 as a 4th backup as I now use a canon 80d as my primary, canon SL1 as my secondary, Panasonic FZ1k as my 3rd backup and now the nx30 as my 4th backup

I went out and bought a second NX1 body, and a NX500. A couple months ago BestBuy said it had an NX1 body in stock. On the website it was priced at 1499$. When I called the store it was on clearance for 749$.

I went hardcore into the NX line. 2 nx300, 1 nx30, 2 nx1, and 1 nx500. Going to sell my like new nx30, and 1 like new nx300. I just don't use them having the nx1. I am still looking for a lightly used 60mm macro lens.

Why NX? Price for performance, and I really am in love with the colors it produces.
