NX1 body only kit in John Lewis for £680 approx
1

There is a new boxed body only NX1 kit in the Reading (UK) branch if anyone is interested. I would buy it, but not in the market currently. They include a case and 64GB SD card in the box. That is half price for what is still an outstanding camera.

My only gripe is the fact the screen does not flip forward to assist with composing video. Even my superb EX2F did that! (Best camera I have ever owned.)

No idea, take a look on their website. prob a one off, says Clearance on the tag. Truth is, my Note 4 4K video was outstanding (as were stills) and am getting the Note7, which is even better if the S7 are anything to go by. The quality gap between what a good phone and a mid sensor dslr or mirrorless can do is closing. And the former fits in your pocket. I was out for a bike ride yesterday and two red tailed hawks were riding the thermals and hunting meeces. Whisked phone out of pocket, caught it all on video. Quick pinch to zoom on the screen to zoom in. Phone back in pocket in a flash. Viewed footage on my Dell 4K 27" back home and outstanding IQ, and that from my Moto X 2nd Gen phone which is like the Note 4 two years old. This is sadly why samsung are quitting. They shot themselves in the foot with their amazing phone cameras. And when the Light camera launches, then the big boys will be hurting, unless one of them buys the company. Canon?

Sorry, on a thoughtful rant.

Interesting comparison, I've owned the note 4,note 5 and countless other phones capable of 4k video capture and none have been a patch on the nx1.

I have a oneplus 3 phone. It's miles worse than nx1 for video and...miles and miles worse for stills.

I define it as good enough when I olny have it with me (like saying... Better than nothing) but there really is no comparison.

i confess to have not seen NX1 output, but know it is good. I do stand by my comments though, phone cameras are catching up and good enough for an increasingle % of scenarios. And if the pocketable Light camera is as good as they say, that will be to dslrs what the iPod was to the Walkman. Death.

Mp3 player was better than walkman in every way. Smartphones only have a size advantage. They could be good enough for many, even for most. But won't ever be better than a DSLR.

LOL, try to avoid seeing NX1 4K output if you run into one because you might punch yourself for saying your Note's 4K is great. That's not to say Note 4 is bad. It's just NX1 4K is on a totally different level.

Having said, latest top end phones are quite nice for stills in good lighting. And of course, you can't beat their portability.
