Any interest in a out of camera JPEG tribute thread ?

We all know the NX future is uncertain and this is not another thread about Samsungs future so please don't make this thread too into a NX is dead blah blah thread. We allready have a million of those.

Samsung made so many cameras over the years, from phones and compacts to the latest flagship. why not make a tribute thread to samsungs cameras and lenses ?

I like to use manual whitebalance and the JPEG settings, it is great fun and I think this can be fun way to tribute the NX system .

Ofcourse all the JPEG settings like white balance, tint, contrast, saturation etc. are ok but I suggest to turn lens distortion correct and noise reduction off. I suggest it is ok to use the clone tool to remove sensor dust and disturbing object if it's well made and don't change the JPEG properties like contrast etc. To crop is also ok and the rules it's fine to not follow rules too, just write the changes you made . Some rules can make it a fun challenge !

Any suggestions for rules , post it !

Any interest in posting a few out of camera JPEG now and then in a tribute thread ?

Seriously though, what is jpeg? It seems complicated.

I took my Coolpix A and NX500 out for a street session with a view to comparing them but when I got home I discovered all my NX500 shots were jpeg! I never deliberately shoot in jpeg unless the camera forces me to.

A jpeg thread is useful for jpeg only shooters who want to minimize pp. Tastes vary so looking at actual images is a must. Count me out though. I'm so inexperienced with shooting jpeg I don't know how best to handle the files.

Very little interest in a out of camera tribute thread ?

It's super easy guys.

1. set white balance on white paper .

2. set picture wizard color for the color you want to emphazise. Blue for night sky or green for green stuff or use it like film emulation . fuji = green , kodak = yellow . or leave it neutral (boring)

3. contrast +1 , sharpness +1 . that is a good setting to start out with. desaturate can be fun too. start out careful with +1/-1 .

4. shoot raw + jpeg . Try picture wizard bracket too. B&W is really good B&W.

I don't post unfinished work online unless it's a test shot.
