Some great color from the backyard...

Did a quick walk around our backyard with the EM1 and 60mm macro.  Lots of brilliant color this time of year:

I like no.s 1 and 3. The top photo: I can't decide if I want to say it looks a little washed out, or if that effect is actually what I like about the photograph.

Thanks.  For #1, I did use a LR preset to start that has a matte type finish, and then I tweaked it from there.  It's a look that I like for some photos, but it's not for everyone.

Then I think it's a successful piece of work you've done. And it compliments the strong composition you began with too.

What I like about your 3rd photo is the out of focus petals in the foreground which take on a brushstroke like effect.

That second last one is really terrific, with the crisp flower foreground and the wonderfully soft background colours. Cheers!

Thank you!  Yes, I was going for that effect in #3 - happy with how it turned out.
