AF performance - Canon 35 F2 IS

Is there any owner of the Canon EF 35mm f/2 IS lens who might comment on the AF performance of this lens? I am especially interested in the tracking of moving subjects at wide open apertures. I currently own a 7D MKII and a Sigma 18-35 ART. While I am very happy with the quality I get out of this combination, I am a little disappointed with the tracking capabilities. In anything other than perfect light, I am very hesitant to use the lens at 1.8 for moving subjects. And there is also the issue of accuracy with outer AF points, but that is a separate story.

Currently the only lens I own, that I feel takes full advantage of the 7D MKII AF capabilities is the 70-300L. Since I really like the 35mm focal length on APS-C, I was thinking of adding this lens to my current setup, and use it when AF speed and accuracy are critical. I’ve read many positive reviews, but I am always interested in personal experiences from the forum.

Just to be clear, obviously this is just a hobby for me. And by moving subjects I mean running kids, pets, people at events, etc..
