All that's missing is some steaks and beers , or are they under the hood ?

So cooking in the house instead .

Enjoy your meal .

Hi Bill,

It's nice to see you still using the 7D. The reds were always great with that camera. I think I have to power it up again and get some new photos.

Happy Father's Day!

You have a good memory, Bill, and I still have 2 7D's. One is new and still in its box. :-) Trusty Rusty (my workhorse 7D) is having its battery charged as we speak. Perhaps a few new pictures?

I have been very sick over the last two and a half years Norma, and have not been strong enough to get out in the woods. I miss being out there... I have been able to take a few photos off my back deck into the wood behind my house. My expiration date was suppose to be around January 2015, being diagnosed with advanced stage cancer October 13 2013. I have been in clinical trials over the last year and am I remission at the moment. .these poisons it takes a toll on my strength but I am still here... Yesterday my Son was given the very nice fathers day gift... a new son named Gabriel 6lb. 5 oz. 19 inches long, he is my fifth grand child.. I was feeling good enough today to go over the wildlife preserve, its about 5 miles from my house.. but its so hot out today 90+ here, I thought it would be better to chose a cooler day. It will be my first time in the woods in almost three years.

I was going to take my7D with 400 mm and my A77 with 90 mm macro. I use to hike in the wood 200 days a year covering about 30 miles a week. I plan on spending an hour or two and maybe a mile in and a mile out. I may have to shorten that " In " distance the first time out.. but at least I feel like I can do a little walking and shooting. I always have my 7D right here on my desk, in the event anything pops up in the back of the house,

Oh, Bill, I am sorry that you have been so ill. It sounds like you have been to Hell and back. I am glad for the remission but I'm sure the physical cost was very high. Be careful out there in the heat. It can sap you strength in the blink of an eye, as I'm sure you know.

What a Father's Day gift! Both Gabriel and his Mother are beautiful. My best wishes to the new parents and congratulations on your 5th grandchild. I hope you all have many years to enjoy each other.

Keep shooting anything with that 7D. It will help keep the smile on your face.

I charged up a dead battery for my 7D and put it in the camera. Nothing. Nada. Not a peep from the camera. Argh. But it was the battery, not the camera. I put in another battery which probably had not been charged in a year and the 7D sprang to life. I fired off a garbage photo or two and no first black frame. Amazing. Now when the weather cools down a bit, I'll take it outside.

7 D batteries.... funny when I came back to this forum.. ( never really left ) While invested in Sony gear... I find this forum to be less, confrontational and most of my old nemesis are no longer stalking me... I come here every day, and rarely view the Sony forum..

About 6 months ago I made a run at reviving this forum. I took every thread posted on the first page of this forum which was up to about 6 months. I opened and viewed every single post... took the timew to digest its content, and offered some real opinion or comment.. it took me a few days to get the whole first page down to less than 24 hours.

I figured if the three or four that still come here would help, maybe we could get people more interested in posting here, to revive this forum... not so much as a total KM forum , but as a forum where former KM users, and some with KM gear could come, and share.

So six months ago I took out my 7D, and charged up two original KM batteries from 2004. I have a total of four OEM batteries that are 12 years old, and two good quality generics that are about 8 years old. Of the 4 OEM batteries, only one would hold a charge. All of the generics were dead. So I bought new generic, and had it in a few days// charged it up so I had two good batteries and the Original 12 year old OEM works as if it was new... And the new generic works well...

AS far as this forum goes.. I hung in there for two weeks, every day keeping this forum very active... after all, I've always said what good is a forum if no one posts a comment to a question or a photograph that was posted .. soi I made sure every post , and photograph received a comment. an honest comment , not a sugar coated one.

After two weeks I realized that there was some interest but not enough to encourage a revival.. so I still come here, comment if appropriate, offer some input and opinion, and do not expect much... I found it interesting that a few of my Boo birds came in just to trash my efforts and then left.. these are suppose to be grown men. It actually made me laugh and realize even with my advanced stage cancer, I am much better off as a human being then they ever will. One actually made mention of the fact that I was still alive, knowing of my sickness, and seemed to be unhappy in the fact that I was still breathing.
