The cheapest I've seen recently was for $400 from a variety of retailers. I assume it was a Panasonic backed sale as they all went down to $400 at the same time and back up at the same time.

Is that reliable to buy grey market lens from Hong Kong? Should I use http://www.price.com.hk to check the price and locate the shop? Otherwise, is there any way to find a reliable shop?

I'm planning to have a trip to HK in Christmas and thinking to pickup 1 or 2 lens. If they have a better price there, maybe i will just purchase in HK.

Why not a used one with even more lower price?

If you don't need a local warranty in your country, it would be alright. Although generally there would be a 10 days faulty product exchange (no guarantee, due to no return good laws in Hong Kong), you better check everything in order (in case of a lens, no de-centering, no foreign particle inside, no mold, no scratch on lens elements etc...) before payment.

I'll avoid shop with nice and big electrical signboard along Nathan Road or in Tsimshatsui area (they are specialty shops for tourist... you can imagine). I'll rather try the local shops (e.g. those in "Sim City", Mongkok or "Wanchai Computer Center" in Wanchai) ....

On top of normal grey market products, there is also cheaper de-kit lenses. The problem is the shops might not have constant supply. And the these extraordinary cheap lenses (mainly because of no sizable M43 community in Hong Kong, the de-kit lenses would be sold ASAP at an extra discount) would be snapped up very quickly.

Not sure if you can wait, but I got mine from Olympus. Picked up a refurbished one for $320 (after 20% discount sale). Their sales seems to pop around every so often.

Lens was clean and in working order.

I could of bought a used one, but wasn't too keen on the lack of warranty. Going the Olympus route gave me peace of mind.

I'm guessing you got the Oly 14-150 not the Panny 14-140.
