I liked it, actually. Well built but light weight, comfortable and easy to shoot with, good AF performance, and nice sharp JPEGs with excellent color reproduction. It reminds me of why I liked my Rebel T3 so much.

I know, I know. I'm supposed to go on here and say how much it sucks based on the specs alone. But it's a very straight-forward likable camera.

would you upgrade to T6 from T3?, or do you jump to better model?

The 64K question is would you (as an owner of T3) upgrade to T6 or jump into the better model like T6s or T6i?

Canon Rebel series

This is a question related to the issue posed above.  I understand that within the Canon Rebel series there are there groups: the t_i, t_s, and the t_,  From what I understand the t_ is the entry level of the three while the t_s is the mid-level and the t_i is the advanced of the three.  Every two years a new model in each of the groups is introduced thus this year we saw the introduction of the t6 and next year we can look forward to the t7i and t7s.  I also think that the 80d is over top the entire Rebel series.  Am I correct?

Almost. The T6s is the most advanced of the T6_ bodies.

T_ < T_i < T_s

outside the USA it's

1_00D < 7_0D and 750D/T6i < 760D/T6s

... I also think that the 80d is over top the entire Rebel series. Am I correct?

Yes.

Close, but the T6s has a few more features and is more expensive than the T6i.

These include:

  • Eye sensor for use with optical viewfinder [T6s only]
  • LCD information display on top plate [T6s only]
  • Quick control dial on rear [T6s only]
  • Servo AF in live view [T6s only]
