What is the best non-zipper case for the G7X mark II?

For many years I have used a Canon S90 with the M-Rock Yosemite case that features a flip top secured by a little velcro and a plastic clip rather than zippers (I would always worry about scraping the camera on the exposed zipper track when removing it or putting it back; and the clip can be opened and closed very quietly vs. a zipper). There is a front pocket where I keep extra batteries and a little zipped up mesh section built into the flip top for SD cards.

When I bought my Canon G7X mark II (at Henry's--thanks to a post I saw in this forum for that money-saving tip!), I had a thought to see if maybe the M-Rock might be big enough for the G7x; alas, it is not deep enough for the front lens to fit in.
I see this July 2015 review from TS2 on Amazon saying that the G7X fits snugly into the Tamrac 5692 Digital 2 Camera Bag (~ $15), which says it has 3 by 1.5 by 5.25 inches internal dimensions (vs. the 4.2 x 2.4 x 1.7 in. G7XmII dimensions). The Tamrac 5692 Digital 2 bag has the flip top lid and a plastic clip to secure it. The 1.5 depth internal dimension for the 5692 doesn't seem to match the 1.7 inch G7XmII stated depth.
Earlier, I had found the Tamrac Tek on Amazon that says it fits the G7X; however, one of the answered questions disputes this and another answer confirms that the G7XmII does not fit. External Tek dimensions are: 5.6 x 3.3 x 2.5 inches. The Tek certainly looks rather slim vs. my M-Rock Yosemite case.
There is also a Tamrac 5690 case with dimensions 3.2 x 4.5 x 4.8 inches. (maybe would be too big? 4.2 vs. 4.8 length; 2.4 vs. 4.5 width; 1.7 vs. 3.2 depth).
Are there flip-top/plastic clip style camera bags (I wear my M-rock at my waist by using the strap attachment) that are better for the G7XmII? Ones that accommodate a spare battery and SD cards?
It seems like most of the G7X and G7XmII threads about cases talk about Case Logic or Lowepro zip-up cases.
Thanks for any tips,

P.S. Is there a reason that the G7XmII battery compartment door doesn't auto-latch when you close it? At least mine requires a manual locking of the door lock mechanism.
Thus far I find the G7XmII feels bigger and heavier than the S90; it feels much faster and appears to take sharper pictures at lower light levels.
