Olympus SP-100 bridge camera

I know it is discontinued but does anyone have one or have any views on it? I can't seem to find any threads on here about it so clearly wasn't that popular.

I played with one today in a store and actually quite liked it compared to some of the other bridge cameras on offer

Look for SP-100 videos on YouTube. Its strength was its red-dot (gun-type) sight. One person reported it broke very quickly. Another person demonstrated fast focusing on the SP-100 as opposed to slow focusing on the Nikon P900.

Also check the specs in the 'Cameras/Olympus' drop-down menu.

The fact that the SP-100 id not get much coverage here only means that the few still frequenting this forum did not go for it. They also don't go for my choices of pocket travel zooms.

Thanks. I think I'm just going to go for it. It may not have best in class IQ but if IQ was that important I don't think any of the small sensor big zoom cameras would be good enough. The dot sight worked really well on the one I tried and the AF did seem a lot better than the Canon SX60 they had alongside it. The price is also good

Tried it in a shop a year ago.

Nice EVF and lighter than I expected.   I didn't buy it because I was just browsing.

I was put off by what seemed to be water colour smearing of distant foliage in some samples posted which showed at normal viewing sizes. This is something that is a good test of over aggressive smoothing coupled with a lens struggling to provide too many tiny pixels with detail.

I was also put off when I read reviews comparing it to other bridge cameras.
