Re: EX1 still cutting it

I thought of upgrading mine to the EX2F, but can't find one for sale in my usual outlets.

Re: EX1 still cutting it

I like:

The Amoled display

The articulated screen

The simple way the menus and functions are set out

The fast Schneider lens

The IQ from the Schneider Lens especially in low light

The lens cap attachment

I'm not so happy with:

The short reach

Samsung RAW which needs a converter on my Macbook Pro

Tendency to over expose

What about you?

I don't use RAW much and don't have a MacBook so no bother really. And for the over exposure I always have it wound Dow a little maybe -3 or -7.

Re: EX1 still cutting it

Another EX1 devotee here. I've been looking for something with a larger sensor for a couple of years now, but nothing has yet come along that would tempt me to ditch the EX1.  M4/3 doesn't IN MY OPINION give much of an increase in image quality.

I don't appear to suffer from the overexposure problem, and although the camera is a bit slow, I can't really think of any other complaints, keeping in mind that it is a compact camera with a relatively small sensor

There were worries that the AMOLED screens would deteriorate badly but you do not seem to be having problems which is good to hear. These little Samsungs seem to be very durable machines.

Hi. I had an EX2F, loved it and wish I never sold it! Great IQ in all conditions.

Anyway, there is ONE white one on Amazon UK, but v pricey!

Re: EX1 still cutting it

It was very nice camera - some time ago I planned to buy it later EX2F but in meantime  Panasonic LX-7 occured on the market and I bought it because this camera is much better specification than EX* and former LX-5

Now also LX-7 is close to the end of presence in shops but stiil possible to buy new in good price.

Small fast very well equipped machine, metal body, Leica 24-90/F1,4-F2,3 lens I like it very much.

The only disadvantage was the price, but I know in USA it was sold twice cheaper than in my country so USA guys could be happy.

Sorry to be so long replying. For some reason dpreview isn't advising me about replies.

I had a look at Amazon.co.uk, but that offer didn't ship to Australia,
