...the Bird on Branch

I see this fellow almost every day out of my living room window, and I managed to grab some shots with the GX7 and my legacy Canon 300 f4L lens. Again, surprised with the GX7 stabilization, as those were shot hand held.

Though pigeons are much maligned I think that they are actually quite attractive birds when you look closely at them

Re: Meet Bob!

Like the middle one but would crop some of the foliage out.  Tell us a bit more about adapter and aperture.  I find that the Canon needs to be stopped down a bit to improve micro contrast.

Took this on EM1 with Metabones T Smart at f/5.   IBIS on the EM1 is excellent but this was taken at relatively high shutter speed.

Out for a walk at Morfa Mawddach

Re: Meet Bob!

Well, I shoot it generally stopped down just one click, that is f4.5~5.

The lens is sharp even wide open, but it gets quite a bit better stopped down one stop, and about perfect at f5.6.

Exactly my experience too!

Which adapter do you use?

Re: Meet Bob!

Oh I forgot that part

I'm using a cheap ebay plain adapter FD-m43.

Mine is the 300mm f/4 IS L USM so I get AF with the Metabones and EM1.

I use a Fotasy Adapter with my old 300 FD  and 400 FD Canon lenses but any should work.
