A portrait using the Sigma 30mm f2.8
3

The other morning I did this quicky portrait of our son, daughter in law and new grandson. I used window light and a reflector. The Sigma is really an excellent little lens, and I found a mint used copy a while back for $133 -- how could I resist?

Mom and dad are a tiny bit soft due to shallow DOF at f2.8 ( I focused on our grandson's face), however, I think that slight softness adds to the feel of the image. The Sigma itself is razor sharp. Normally I don't shoot close up portraits at f/2.8 because the DOF is too shallow.

Beautiful Greg! Soft is just fine for portraits.

And Mazel Tov to you and the family, on the new addition
