Pentax K3 II, Pixel shift close-up...wow!
23

Hello

This morning, near Turano river ( little river at 1000mt...Italy ), 5°C, first true macro and close up session with my first Pentax reflex

Great reflex, great lens ( Pentax 100mm macro), useful Pixel shift function!

Postproduction with DCU and saved to Jpeg with PS CC.

Amazing

I am a bit surprised that pixel shift works that well. Is it totally free of wind? And the owlfly and butterflies sitting still?

Provably the sharpest macros I have seen so far using Pixel shift.

You are proving this feature can be used on living subjects...

Wondering how you managed to have time to set up a tripod, frame, etc, with these moving insects?

Don't tell me you shot handheld?

Nice photos with great resolution.

How did you get these butterflies stay still for so long without any movement on the flowers too?l! Great catches.

I love the oof rendering!

I start take my photos from 5-6 AM and the temperature is low ( not in summer) and the Wind is very very low or absent. The insect after night, at sunrise, at low temperature, are very still

I shot with tripod

The insects are very still at low temperature at sunrise, after night,it's normal. I start take photo at sunrise  and at 9 AM stop

In Italy is very common take close up at sunrise, after night because the insects are still  and is very simple take good macros ( only during spring and autumn...in summer i need go in mountain)

I understood that there was a catch I am not all that early up in the morning.
