NX Mini & Samsung 50-200mm
6

I took the NX mini with my on a trip to the zoo with my son and was pleasantly surprised by the quality! Especially combined with the 50-200 lens it suddenly creates a reach of 540mm in a relatively small package. Ideal for moderately well lit situations like this:

I generally like taking the NX mini with me daily to catch photo opportunities or on family trips where I dont want to be too distracted with gear. It's a great alternative in my opinion, it's a true shame there wont be a 2.0 version with slightly more controls like a dial.

It looks gorgeous, is this cropped ?

In any case, quite impressive, I'm really thinking about getting one in a year or two, when it will be cheap in second-hand. Will not be easy to find one, but I guess i'll juste Watch and wait to find one at the right price, since this is not a priority

Re: NX Mini & Samsung 50-200mm

Thanks!

The first one is cropped slightly for better composition, the second one isn't. The tele zoom really gets you this close! It really is an underrated gem, in my opinion a worthy addition next to the other NX camera's.

I actually got mine dirt cheap second hand, I wouldn't pay too much on a dropped system either. It pays to look around a bit.

Thanks! Yes, it really is deeply underrated, I'm amazed by the detail. Now considering the 17mm lens before it gets too rare.

But no company is interested in developing camera with 1" sensor.

Both Samsung and Nikon 1 are dying.

Ha ha. Tell that to Sony with the amazing success of the Rx100 series of cameras and to a lesser degree the RX10. Last I checked they are releasing new 1" sensor cameras. Oh and don't forget the FZ1000. Also, Nikon recently announced 3 new 1" cameras that are highly anticipated.  So, I have no idea where you are coming up with no interest in the 1" size. 1" is very popular and an excellent compromise to size and IQ. It is not meant to be a replacement for a large sensor. It is the right tool for certain jobs.

I dont really see how this reply is relevant to the topic. Those two systems are indeed dying but that doesn't relate to display of the quality here.

Keep posting pictures like this and I'll be picking it up. There is nothing dying about that picture.

I'll be sure to take up the challenge

I see it as an advanced compact, for the price its a very good one and well... Other advanced compacts wont suffer either from lack of available lenses.

Cameras you mentioned are fixed lens units not system cameras.

I prefer to have lens changing possibility.

NX1 mini camera could be nice replacement of longer focal lens.

Yes this is the future. Why did you guys not tell me the adapter got a tripod mount before ?

600mm FF lens, cost $10000 and limited by DOF. Too strong blur on subject and background. CRAP !

Very nice bear:)

But the picture is very expensive too.

Buying so expensive gear you rather must sell your pictures - probable sometimes taking them is risky
