No Dragonflies here, just Gecko's
2

I do not have any dragonflies around right now, plus, there is some pretty tough competition around here. So, I took some shots of some geckos in my backyard today. They are fun to watch, especially when they change colors to blend in. All were taken with the 40-150 f2.8 Pro.

I love how his feet are still green here.

The green feet are gone but it looks like he has some eye shadow on!

These next shots are of a gecko who just captured his dinner. Unfortunately he did when I wasn't looking!

You can see the antennas from his dinner hanging out of his mouth

Dinner must have been pretty good!

Hopefully the dragonflies will show up soon around here!

Re: No Dragonflies here, just Gecko's - great gecko pix, Bruce

Love those things! We have them inside the house here in the tropics, running around at night mopping up any flying insects that incautious land.

occasionally they fall off the ceiling in their over-excitement and land with a "PLOP" on the floor. The like there for a minute, apparently collecting their wits, then they are off again.

Gecko watching -- hours of harmless entertainment!

BUT no decent pix from here, I'm sorry to say. :\

Yes, they are very entertaining! We used to have an adopted cat that brought a gecko into the house. I picked up the frightened little guy and put him unharmed back outside. Well, the cat was confused as to why I would return the present he gave me, so, the cat went back outside, found the same gecko and brought him back in again! I took the gecko out again, but this time, I closed the pet door so the cat could not get out and the gecko finally had a chance to get far away from the cat!

That's a Carolina Anole.  Tons on them all over the southern U. S..  I've been catching them for over 50 years.  Nice pictures.

Thanks! Yes, we have no shortage of them, but I like the fact that they love to eat bugs! And as Henry said, they are very entertaining to watch, especially when they start chasing each other! They are fast!
