This two thirds sensor's ability to defocus the background still surprises me, sometimes...

Were you shooting on auto? The settings are all different except for the ISO.

I shoot Aperture priority or Manual mode. I started shooting at 6.30 in the morning, and the light was changing rapidly.

Makes sense. Some of these seem a little soft and I wondered if it was the shutter speed because the last image with the faster shutter speed is much sharper than the other photos.

Thank you for looking at my pictures so carefully, and for the feedback!
Yes, the cat was shot at a tenth of a second, handheld. Apart from camera shake, the cat was not entirely still. There was some wind which affected the flowers, but I was not carrying any lighting.

I have two cats. They are somewhat easier to photograph than my 9 year old daughter, but that's not saying much.
