Do Samsung produce the RX10 for Sony ?

We know that Sony produce sensors designed by Samsung for phones so maybe they cooperate with cameras too. I think I have the magic eye for spotting Samsung cameras and I vote yes.

What do you think ?

To Nikon specifications.  To Canon specifications.  To Panasonic specifications. To Samsung ...  The cameras look so much alike in the digital era, compared to the film era when the cameras were much less complicated.

The buttons, dials, materials, menu systems, lens construction, etc.  Only guessing.  But think most components and sub-assemblies are ordered up.  Helps explain why models can come out so quickly.  In earlier days here, Phil Askey would even demonstrate how the same lens was being used across several models.

If you ask me it is possible Samsung produce this one also.

I don't know but they all claim that the image processor is their own with fancy names like "Nikon EXPEED 6A image processor" . What is it ?

Even Samsung use SOC designed by others for their phones instead of designing them all by themself. Do nikon really design these? I doubt it when they can buy it from a reputable company like Samsung or Fujitsu or someone else.

Few companies do produce SOC so I think it is a mix of Nikons design and using other companies for manufacturing.

Samsung is a hardware company that do everything from OLED EVF to SOC and OLED tilt screens ,and it is not likely Nikon do this. Samsung is not the only one who makes OLED and SOC but one of the big ones so why not? It sure have the characteristics of being "made by samsung"

It is just speculations ofcourse but it sure is possible . We know they have the skill so to say and Nikon and Sony knows this too.

This nikon camera use a BSI CMOS sensor of exactly same dimensions as the NX mini btw.

Highly doubtful, as if Sony doesn't have their own design team and need to outsource that to Samsung. Individual components I can understand such as EVF and processors (which are also made in-house by Sony), but in terms of industrial design Sony is one of the best in the business. In fact, the NX1's design is heavily inspired by other companies such as Nikon and Sony.

Then why Sony can't reproduce the ergonomics of the NX1, in none of its mirrorless cameras?

Have you ever used a a600 or A7 camera?

because they have different design philosophies, Sony E-mount are made to be as small as possible while NX1 is designed to compete against DSLRs (in form and function). If you handled any of Sony's A-mount cameras they handle incredibility well, better than some of the Nikon and Canon for that matter. So Sony can very well design ergonomic DSLR, they just chose not use use that in their mirrorless lineup.

That is true, the A-mount series are quite OK (for a few years a was strongly considered them as very good value for money cameras), but the A7 are dissapointing, and the fact that the a6000 do not have any touchscreen capabilities do not make them any favor.

Whoever of my pro friends have ever hold a NX1 were all trully impressed and found them better than any of their Canon/Nikon/A7 series cameras, that is no small feat. Even the small-ish NX500 is a breeze to use with the twin dials, touchscreen, PLUS the new shortcut mod powered by Otto!
