The spring is here and I had a chance to make a photo shoot outside. Here are few photos from it, Samsung NX 500 + 85 1.4:

The fine detail is not that visible on pics for web.

I'm not using blur, sorry

Here is an example crop from the first photo in the size for retouching, JPEG vs Final:

Where is the wax?

Nice shots.

For the photo above:

To get the zipper in the foreground and the strands of hair at the rear of her head in focus while shooting at 1.4, I guess the model was quite a distance from you.

Seems you had to crop the original a good amount.

Nothing wrong with all this, just having fun guessing how you conducted the shoot.

At such a distance did you have be to modify the ambient light?

Thanks for an interesting post.

The crop here is mostly because I decided that 4:3 looks better for this shot than original 3:2 - just a bit cut from above and below. Few meters distance to the model, no need to modify such nice natural light

Noncho you are a very active member of the community with excellent photos and very well exposed, thanks for the brilliamt job you do, and for the time to answer even the most irrelevant accusations!

I am torn for a while between the NX 85, the 50-150 and/or Samyang/Jupiter 85. I think I prefer the NX85, but the versality of the 50-150, and price/character of the manual ones make them really attractive.

Do you have an opinion about it?

Thank you very much.

I like the nice telephoto lenses and I'm missing something longer than 85 for action shots(faster focus and versatile). For portraits I'm happy with the NX 85. Even Samyang's 85 is nice lens for that.

Also with 50-150 I would have to go for NX1 and that is too expensive for the current situation around the NX system. And 50-150 is not long enough for me, I need something 300+ too. So I'm observing the options from the other manufacturers and I'll get another system for telephoto at some point.

I do wish I had the financial capability to buy all those (maybe in the long run I will though), I do have the NX1 and I need something better than the 50-200, but the NX situation is a bit weird right now to invest in "expensive" lenses (the body I do not mind, as I use it for video with manual lenses anyway).

Thank you very much, keep photographing, and keep posting!

These are amazingly well done, lovely!

Did you use natural light only?

Yes, I prefer natural light.

Currently I have only small NX flash, It's not good for such shots.

I love your pictures. I See i need a good portrait lens. In your opinion is the 85mm Samsung lens fast enough for slow moving portrait Fotos?
