Samsung NX System

I have watched and read peoples reviews of different NX cameras inc. faults etc,and i don't understand the moans and groans.

Most people seem happy with system, so why knock what is without doubt one of the best systems at this present time and if Samsung decide to keep quiet i think we should as well.

I have an NX10 from day one and although limited by todays standards set the benchmark for what is a very good camera.

So come on everyone enjoy it while it's here and post more photos for our enjoyment.

Can you explain the workflow? Have you stiched photos from 2 different lenses? Very interesting!

I hope your NX10 keeps going, when i wanted to replace mine I found that the system had just about disappeared in the UK.

The NX10 is a great camera and I loved the size. I used mine walking in the Austrian Alps and it never felt like a burden to carry.

There were no photos from different lenses, the lenses themselves were placed facing each other head to head using a double male-male coupling ring adapter. It's a cheap solution for macro AFAIK but the downside IQ-wise is the aberrations, which can be reduced up to a point in LR. Furthermore its practically impossible to focus on purpose and DoF is tiny, really tiny, so you do this:

Tripod, lights, subject in place, interval 3-5 sec depending on the stability of your installation, and then you start shooting and changing the focus point during the intervals. Import SRWs in LR, correct them and export. Open photoshop and File->Scripts->Load files into stack. Browse and find your jpegs and click Ok having clicked the box that says "attempt to automatically align source images". When it finishes importing all layers, select edit->auto blend layers and stack images (no panorama) having clicked the "seamless tones and colors" box.

Flatten image, crop and you're done.

The more shots you take, the better it gets, less focus changes every time, better sharpness in the final picture. This attempt was done with 22 exposures but don't be lazy 'cos if you watch carefully, there is a small portion of the screw's head that is not in focus, and that's because I assumed it could not be seen and being lazy, I rolled the focus ring more that needed in those 2-3 intervals.

Lots of work for you and your computer, especially if you import 30-35 full size 28Mp jpegs in PS, which I strongly recommend IQ-wise, let the damn machine melt

If you are bored doing all this, you can find flat surfaces in a plane exactly parallel to your camera's view and take a single shot using timer to avoid shaking. Like this one:

KMZ

Have fun

What is so hard to understand about moans and groans of a totally dead system?

No more support from Samsung

- no new firmware
 - no new lenses
 - no new flashes
 - no new original accessories

And even worse,

- no 3 party AF lenses
 - no new 3 party flashes
 - no new major 3 party accesories

Jo doubt if you are happy with your NX10 and accessors, fine.

Bur please understand that not all share your views and have the right to be pis.... about Samsungs policy.

I do own a NX1, 16-50s and 50-150s. Truly a fine setup, but a fine totally dead setup.

Ever thought about people waiting for a Samsung AF tele lens? Waiting till camera is rotten..

Ever thought about people Sigma coming in with NX llens line to get more option on lens types? Waiting till camera is rotten....

Ever thought about people waiting for Youngo to bring out TTL flashes?

Should i write down more points why people moan and groan on Samsung?

Well one more point. what is in 2-3 years when my NX1 breaks? Buy used stuff in ebay if I am lucky? If not, throw away thousand of dollar in lenses...

Re: Samsung NX System

I have sold NX10 but I had an occasion to buy NX30 in very attractive price (below 400 Euro) so I did it.

NX30 is larger but more convenient and faster.

I like this camera very much.

Except very fast action it is usable for every kind of pictures.

very good resolution for landscapes

pancake lens are small, cheap and theirs quality is good enough

I hope I will buy NX1 in good price.
