The game is changed? Sammy Parts- NO RETURNS??!!

Hey all was checking out Sammy Parts made world famous by the "Lets change the game" post... I was just about to pull the trigger on a lens and it says NON-RETURNABLE

This is concerning as on a different page I read someone got a 50-150 S lens and it would not stabilize correctly so he sent it back...

But now they seem to have changed policy to guy in a back alley wearing a trench coat rules.

I dont buy things to return them but what if I get a faulty part?

Has anyone been burned by them and stuck with a lens that doesn't work?

It probably means you can not return it if you change your mind but if the lens is not working there are probably both warranty and laws regulating that they have to either repair , replace or refund.

You don't tell what shop it is or what country neither so it is difficult to say for sure.

Since it is a "spare part", defects would be covered under your original warranty.

Since it is a "spare part", defects would be covered under your original warranty. But since you did not buy the legal lens in the first place, you have no warranty, so......MUAHAHAHA!!!

That is why the price was lower dummies!

When they replaced officially one of my PZs last year (Samsung NX had already abandoned my country then), they told me that I have six months for this part (the lens), or (if it was longer) the original lens warranty.

The prices are lower because these lenses were supposedly parts for lens servicing, and do not include any documentation, sun hood, packaging (except a simple carton box) and the aforementioned warranty. If you have a lens under warranty, they have to service it, replace it (actually that was the case for Samsung, since ever) or refund you.

Here in my country dealer provides 3 months warranty on "parts". So it's better to contact J&J and ask about it. And I agree about "no returns" means you can't return item if you changed your mind and it has nothing to do with warranty.

I got my 50-150S from there  (J&J) and went to Samsung Website filled out the warranty reg , and called they told me yes it has warranty.  A few weeks later got a Samsung extend warranty paper work in the mail if I would like to buy.

Registered my "parts" lens with a full warranty. You guys talking dumb about no Samsung support on these lenses are really just spreading false information and frankly being ignorant. I don't understand the motive to agenda.

Re: The game is changed? Sammy Parts- NO RETURNS??!!

Has anyone noticed the prices of the "Parts" having gone up at all? I was interested in the 45mm (2d version) that others said was about $130 USD, however when I put in the part #AD97-23093A on Samsungparts.com, it's about $176.  Does anyone have a cheaper place for this lens?

You might check your Part#'s to be sure there are 2 different models in black , I bought both and they let me get full warranty on the website also. But if I remember right the 3D cost more. The 2D was less like 120/130 , but hell I might have that wrong its been some time. But they both take great Pics. Very nice glass ! !

Where are you going to get the warranty?

Don't count on actually getting service though. When you make a service call to Samsung they will require you to provide proof of purchase of a product, and if you have bought something that is a spare part you are not going to be able to do that. You will need to claim warranty support from the service center who repaired your original lens with the "spare part" (since the "repair" was not done by Samsung).

It is the same situation as any OEM product you buy. There will be a warranty from Samsung, but that warranty would be only to the company selling the spare parts. To get actual service you would need to get it from them. Normally manufacturers who sell OEM products make it pretty clear that the OEM is responsible for the warranty, not them.
