EM1s take to the waves
4

It was WINDY here in Cornwall UK yesterday. Combined with high tides, that made for some big waves. I hurried down to the harbour to take some pics, along with many others, and the first person I saw was a man with a matching EM1. He had the 40-150 F2.8 lens on his and I couldn't help salivating over it a little. Hadn't seen one 'out in the wild' before. He gave me a hold of it and I was surprised at how light it felt. I know that I don't 'need' it (yet), but when the surf season properly gets going later in the year and I start getting frustrated by the lack of light and inability to catch fast shots, I reckon I might finally have found something to put on my birthday list. It's a big birthday this year so you never know, I might get lucky

I'd love to have seen the other guy's pics. In the meantime, here are a few of mine...

Best wishes

Liz

There is certainly nothing wrong with your pics - Wonderful set - Does the constant pounding of the waves undermine the foundations of the houses? Do they have to be rebuilt at some point?

Thanks Monty

Yes, we have a friend who lives in one of those houses. They had just finished repairing his balcony from the last storm when this one hit!

Oh, and just to clarify - the comment about the lack of light light and fast shots was referring to when I use a longer lens to catch surfers further out on the waves and might start hankering for a faster longer lens!

Re: EM1s take to the waves

In my head I hear three-dozen voices saying, "Blimey, I just washed those windows!"

Nice, dramatic shots. Wow!

Cheers,

Rick

p.s. If you can at all budget for the 40-150 Pro, it will be worth any pain and suffering along the way. It's just lightning-fast on the E-M1--the best autofocusing lens I've ever used.
