I'm curious as to why you used the 40-150mm and not the 60mm.

Simply because I don't own the 60mm.

The focus stacking is a great feature. Buy not just for small objects or macro. It is great on landscape and product photography.

Here is small sample of quickly done sample for one jewellery maker from a eye glasses that are now 220 years old.

It was possible to make that shot in 5 minutes from scratch. The DOF is so deep that it covers almost everything but closest book corner and books at back.

A single f/22 shot didn't even give half of the front lens to be in focus, regardless to get both lenses and most of the book.

This is a great feature to use.

Not my type of picture at all and I love it

Your information is dated, both EM10 II and EM5 II now support focus stacking after firmware update.

Bracketing or in-camera stacking?

It does both. You can choose focus bracketing, and the camera will take multiple exposures varying the focus distance, and then there is an option to process the images into a single JPG immediately after completing the bracketed exposure

In the E-M10 II and E-M5 II. I don't think so, and a few others have said the same. Unless there's been a very recent firmware update, these cameras have bracketing only, and the stacking has to be done in software. Only the E-M1 can process in camera.

Wow, did not realize that was the case. I guess it should come in a firmware update for the E-M5 ii and possibly the E-M10 ii. All I know is the approx 2 year old E-M1 is getting the most amazing firmwares that improves the camera performance and usability with every major update.

Just when I get a little bored with my E-M1 feature set, Olympus adds more to keep you coming back.

Thanks. I'm considering trying a little focus stacking today and may bring both. Not excited about the tripod, though.

Not possible as only E-M1 has large buffer that is required. If remembering correctly the E-M5 II could have done like 4-5 frames stacking but not 8 like E-M1.

Another feature to add to the E-M1's amazing arsenal, and this is after 2 years after it's release.

Very impressive. It's a pity insects don't take lessons from watches on how to sit still

Piece of cake, you just let them unwind first.

Cheers,
