GX8 no shutter shock!!!
1

Thought this may be important info for a few...

Due to very noticable shutter shock problems with my GX7 and many of my lenses I have got used to only shooting using electronic shutter. However there are a few situations where this also can ruin an image. So it was with great reluctance at the weekend that I switched the GX8 to mechanical shutter.

... Wow what a pleasant surprise, I could not detect any blur/shake issues at all.

I didn't have a lot of spare time, but also had the GX7 with me, so did a few quick tests using the Olympus 40-150 f2.8 pro and the panny 12-35 f2.8 pro which were the 2 lenses with me.

With neither lenses could I detect any image difference between e-shutter an m-shutter on the GX8, however the m-shutter mode 'felt' slower when shooting (wonder if this is an anti-shock delay, or just imagined!). But the GX7 results were very different. In comparison the GX7 almost jerks in m-shutter mode and sadly the images show it

Any I am thrilled to have discovered that i can use m-shutter on my GX8 with confidence when needed.

PS. Haven't tried it with my 14-140 mk1 panny yet though!!!

Will report back when I do.
