Funny thing is I bet a Kookaburra documentary would be more popular in NZ than Oz
Maybe some of us Aussies that either get them in our yard or see them a lot are fed up with their "laugh"

Other birds don't like them......Willy wag tails and other small birds will swoop them often as they will take chicks/eggs.

I have to go and try and shoot some at a local park this morning (maybe not in flight.....I am too slow for that mostly unless I have plenty of room).

I actually like Kookaburras but they really are thugs of the bird world.

OK, but we get Kookaburras and numerous other native birds in our yard all the time and every one of them is a different character, and present themselves in different ways all the time with genuine expressions and the like. And it's not always easy to catch them at their most interesting
