Orchid taken using post focus
5

Hi,

I am getting more to grips with the technique, and trying a bit harder to get a pleasing result.   I am sure this facility has merit.

Taken with G7 and 12-35mm, aperture priority and f2.8.   Tripod mount.

Video deconstructed in Photoshop, stacked with Helicon Focus, and post-processed a little in Lightroom.

From experience to date, I really wouldn't want to use in camera stacking, even if it were available.

Dave

Good demo of the capability, Dave

I find the background color 'wrong' (whatever that means! :)) with this flowers, though.

What was the lighting?

Very nice, did you use all the frames you got using post-focus? How many were they?

Hi Geoffrey,

This is a completely new thing for me.

I grabbed the least bad matte board that I have.  I would like to hear what colour or shade you would have gone with.

Lighting? I have no kind of studio. It was a sunny winter day, and I opted for natural light from a north facing window - the light is coming from front left.

I posted it as somewhere between a demonstration , and an image I am quite pleased with.
