Olympus 40-150 f2.8 on Panny GX8

Is anyone using the above?  I want a good WR tele zoom for my GX8 and the 35-100 is a bit short.  If you can comment on the IS I would be grateful.

A further possibility is to use the Olympus TC with the 35-100, but I assume that that would lose the lens IS as well as reducing aperture and IQ

Any comments

Thanks

tom

Somebody in the last couple weeks posted about his success with the combo, including pics. Looks like a winning pairing; I'd chase down the thread to see what he had to say.

The MC14 only works with the two Pro tele lenses. It doesn't physically pair with other m4/3 lenses due to its design.

Cheers,

Rick

The MC14 works with a Leica R to MFT adapter just fine.

Of course, manual focus only.

Anything with a void for the protruding front element will accept the converter, but other than the Pro teles no m4/3 lens, including the 35-100 he was considering paring with it.

Skeeterbytes

i found a thread by "jingrouille" with garden birds, and a comment from you.  Is that the one you meant?

in any case they look very good on my Ipad, even at slow speeds where the IS should be expected to be needed..will look on monitor later..

Thanks for the tip on TC, It sounds as though it will not mount on 35-100.

40-150 looks excellent, though.

Yes, that's the thread. Sorry I couldn't supply a link. Stellar quality to my eye, erasing any doubts I might have had about that camera-lens combo. The lens seems easily up to the challenge of the new 20MP sensor.

Rick
