New aftermarket LP-E17 battery offering for the EOS M3 T6i 750D T6S 760D

First post and want to offer something useful to the forum for all the lurking I've been doing while beginning my hobby of photography.

I recently purchased a 760D camera and have been really enjoying it.  I want to buy additional batteries, but they are uber expensive, hence my search for a replacement.  I contacted the manufacturer and we have kept in contact.  Well today the wait is finally over.

Note from the manufacturer:

We now have Wasabi Power batteries and charger for the Canon LP-E17 >> www.amazon.com/Wasabi-Power-LPE17/dp/B01AX0DXFU

Compatible with:
Canon EOS M3
Canon EOS Rebel T6i (or 750D)
Canon EOS Rebel T6s (or 760D)

These batteries are NOT fully decoded and will not display the remaining run time on the camera. Batteries need to be charged on the Wasabi Power charger.

Thanks for the heads up on the batteries, certainly better price than the canon branded ones.

one thing that did pop out to me was this Note: Batteries are not decoded and will not display the remaining time;

I wonder if this is true to all Wasabi batteries or just this specific model.

I would think that could be a bit of an issue not knowing the battery level while out shooting.

I've never had any problems whatsoever with Wasabi batteries (in my 650D or 70D).  They don't have quite as much capacity, but operation has been identical to my Canon batteries (incl battery life indicator).  I charge them with my Canon chargers.

Don't know about the specific model you list, but if you want to save some $$$, I'd say go for it.

Maybe start with this one in the camera and then switch to your original fully charged Canon battery if it runs out of power? That way you will always know when you're close to running out.

Unfortunately (for some of us) this only seems to be available in the USA at the moment.

Here is a link on eBay for two batteries and charger, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/141873160035?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT they also don't show battery power indicator on the camera.

Thanks for the link - I must admit that I tend to wait until something turns up on Amazon so that I can at least read the reviews.

Re: New aftermarket LP-E17 battery offering for the EOS M3 T6i 750D T6S 760D

Hi everyone,

I just bought a new Canon EOS M6 and I want to buy some aftermarket batteries/charger for a long trek in Nepal, where there will not be many chances to charge from electricity.

My plan is to take a solar panel, and charge the batteries as I go.

I wanted to get some comments on the following types of batteries and chargers.

Does anyone have anything good or bad to say about them?

I am fully aware of the coding issue, and that the original charger will not charge the batteries, and that I will not see power level.

Wasabi offers (battery rated at 1040mAh):

Kastar offers (rated 1300mAh):
