Re: Konica to Micro Four Thirds.

If i had a Micro 4/3 camera , i would probably by the lens .

I have no interest in M4/3 , so i won't be buying either .

.

My main camera system is Sony A-mount , with the a900 and a77ii as my main cameras .

My second system is y E-mount with the NEX 7 as my main one and a full spectrum NEX 3 as another . Plus a few other models besides .

I'll be getting an A7ii later in the year .

A-mount is my main cameras , with E-mount if I'm travelling light .

Almost all my A-mount lenses are Minolta , zooms and primes from 16mm - 300mm , soon to be a 400mm APO .

Also have Canon EOS stuff , Pentax K , Pentax Q , loads of film gear .

The last thing I need to do is to start with another mount !!!

If the optical quality was there I might. As a travel lens it would be a good match together with the one the m43 standard zooms. Despite being out of the camera business KM are still making lenses, I've seen them on JVC video cameras.

Yes, if I needed the lens. I have m4/3 Panasonic cameras and lenses now and would at least consider a Konica addition to the possibilities.

Unless I missed something, there was only a lens patent. Konica could make lenses as a third party supplier without ever getting into the camera side of things. Furthermore, they could design and manufacture the lens for Panasonic and it could wind up wearing the Panasonic nameplate.

I can't imagine Konica trying to get back on the camera side of the prosumer bandwagon now that the camera market is in contraction. Samsung's recent abandonment of the NX line made KM's departure look like a retirement party.

I fully agree with you .

Also Konica Minolta never stopped making lenses , just A-mount lenses .

A lot of video recorders ( or digi-cams , whatever you call them ) have KM lenses on .

Living in the real world isn't necessarily negativity .

KM have always been quite happily making lenses for decades .

The new patent is for a lens , not a camera .

Who says a current M4/3 camera maker hasn't asked them to design and manufacture it for them ?

.

I think you would need to be more than optimistic if you think KM were going to get back into the camera making business !
