A7R2 Video Files EXIF Data?

I'm a bit frustrated trying to find EXIF data (or the equivalent) on video files I've shot with my A7R2. I notice Windows properties files display nothing about camera data for video, neither does Photoshop, and I even downloaded and tried Sony's Playstation Memories and found it shows nothing more than pixel dimensions and frame rate for video.

How do I find what shutter speed, aperture and ISO my video files are recorded at?

Thanks,

Carl (Rochester, New York)

Exif stands for "Exchangeable Image File Format" and just a way to store metadata in Image files. There is no such thing as standardized metadata for video files at all. While some Video containers can take metadata, its not usually applied and couldnt be read by programs in a automated way.

Canon Cameras solve this by putting a .thm file with metadata next to the video file, maybe theres something like that ?

Sony's free app Catalyst Browse shows the info. It is also a nice app for some basic editing. Also very good for creating LUT's.

Sony's cameras put the thumbnail images in a separate directory.  (Don't remember exactly where off the top of my head, don't have camera with me.)

I'll check tonight to see if these thumbs have the aperture/shutter/ISO in their EXIF.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I notice on my Canon 6D that I can see the video data in Digital Photo Professional but nowhere else, so I'm guessing DPP reads that ".thm" file you mentioned. I wonder if there's something similar for Sony. I can't find anything about it and I'd like to be able to look at my video files and know what shutter speed, aperture, ISO, etc., was used when it was recorded.

I haven't heard of Catalyst Browse. I'll look into that. Thanks!

At least some of this information is available in the *.XML file.

How do you get the metadata using Catalyst Browse?
