I Have Discontinued Samsung from my Photography
7

I happily own the following: TL-500, WB250f, two NX 300's, an NX30 and an NX1. And various lenses but not the 'S' glass because for my purposes I don't need the 'S' IQ.

I have reluctantly decided Samsung will never get any more of my money. They do not deserve it.

I use my NX1 on a daily basis and have a three year drops and spills warranty on it so I have no issues to worry about for the next two years.

The NX1 has transformed me into a 4K Still Grab photographer.

As a result of Samsung's Silence, outside of the Light L16 which I pre-ordered, I have no purchase plans for the future unless a top quality 8K camera at a good pricepoint is announced.

Until then my NX gear should deliver what it has always did: great IQ at a great Pricepoint.

I have similar intentions, but since I have the two s lenses, I could, sooner or later, buy another nx1 (if at a very good price) to assure I'll have a working body for the time being.

I don't need a better camera now and I don't think I'll need one in the next few years.

What I'd like is similar quality and speed in small packages. But I don't see it coming soon.

Me too. I have a lot of Samsung gear - NX500, 9 lenses, NX Mini, 1 lens, Galaxy K zoom phone, TV, microwave. So far I already replaced K zoom with Panasonic CM1, and sold NX20 + 20-50 lens and a SEF42A flash. I will continue replacing all of my Samsung products with other brands. I'm targeting at Olympus/Panasonic.

I don't know about the microwave oven, they seem really good.

I had 2 straight Toyotomi (Japan) ones the last 15 years, but they seem low tech in front of the Samsungs.

LG is Korean, do not trust them..

Be very careful if you are a 4K screen grab person now, 4K from a NX1 is vastly superior to a 4K screengrab from another make model/sensor.

My father in laws bought a Panasonic bridge camera with the ability to take 4K screen grabs, the issue is with it the jpg's are very poor compared to the NX1.  This is because although the finished jpg is the same amount of pixels it has been derived from a much larger sensor on the NX1 than on the Panasonic, have a look at the Panasonic forum and have a look at their 4K screengrabs you will be surprised.

Just don't forget, a 4K screengrab is not the same across the board.

LG is Samsung competitor, that's why it's a good buy. In washing machines Miele is unsurpassed, maybe a low tech, but it lasts 20-30 years, and washes better than anything else.

Re: I Have Discontinued Samsung from my Photography

I make many 4K videos - with GH4 and NX500 - BOTH are excellent!

Both cameras allow 4K with 25fps AND 30fps, other mFT cameras (in EU) only 25fps ... G70, GX8, FZ300, FZ1000 ...

My white appliances are usually Siemens (plus 2 old school General Electric fridges in the family house). to be honest, I would buy whatever brand, if the specific product is right for me, there is no such thing as brand loyalty, people are fools to believe such a thing. Maybe dedicated photographic companies such Nikon or Olympus care more, because they can't do anything else. samsung is huge, I could not exclude them from my options (always my first choice for TVs, dvd/blue ray players, soundbars- NX happened to me just recently!), but whatever. Too many good companies and options in my opinion!

What do you mean? GH4 is considered the best Panasonic camera even now. What other crop mirrorless camera that you can buy right now is better than the NX1?

Re: ducks

I made it more specific! There are many good cameras around, and most of them play a particular role. There is no one camera to rule them all (in my opinion), but I am certain about my above (above) statement, about the goodness of the NXs!
