Very well done. I hear complaints about the 100-300 at 300mm not being sharp. These look very sharp to me. It demonstrates that the lens does very well if focused correctly.

Maybe it demonstrates that the lens does very well if there is no shutter shock involved?

Shutter shock is the biggest challenge with my 100-300. I always shoot in bursts to increase my chances of a sharp image. This is also why I ordered the 300mm f4 over the 100-400mm.

I don't follow your logic?

With a faster lens I can increase my shutter speed which reduces the risk of shutter shock.

Your particular specimens of body and lens must be a bad combo for shutter shock. I don't have any issues when using my 100-300 with GX7 or E-M5II. I can completely ignore the matter.

Lovely pictures of a bird I enjoy seeing. Fine detail on the subject, quiet, pleasing background. Nuthatches are small birds so you dd well to get yourself into such a good position.

I noted the f6.3 setting. Worked very well for your shots in spite of the pundits here saying that you must use f7.1 with the 100-300 lens.

Yup! His shots have inspired me to go try again with the 100-300 and give it another chance
