GX7 goes to Colombia
10

Here are some shots from my trip to Colombia last week. https://www.storehouse.co/stories/7bSDOYCTwwYD

They are all shot with the Panasonic 20mm (2nd gen) and the Panasonic 12-32. Have not really had any issues with the 20mm's autofocus that some people have complained about. The 12-32 is showing some heavy distortion at wide angle and have problems with flares, but I really like it for its very compact size. It makes it a very good travel combo with the GX7.

Hope you like the photos - Colombia is a very nice country and I could recommend a visit!

Re: GX7 goes to Colombia

A lot of this looks familiar to me. For starters, is that Tayrona NP in the first few ? I was travelling round Colombia in 2006....

That was a great set of photos. I really enjoyed looking at them.  It was a great example of producing excellent photos with lightweight and affordable glass.

Yes, that is correct. Took a day trip there from Santa Marta.

Re: GX7 goes to Colombia

Thanks a lot!

I have some other gear that is way more expensive but I keep coming back to the GX7+20mm time after time even if it is technically producing the worst images, but there is something with this camera that just makes shooting very fun!

Re: GX7 goes to Colombia

Thought so. Loved Tayrona, stayed a few days because in 2006 it didn't really seem to be a day trip destination. We rented a tent at Arrecifes for $2 a day - the hammocks were $1 a night, but we reckoned the mossies would make it a bit of an ordeal. Also spent (a bit too much) time in Santa Marta, and Taganga a little way along the coast. Happy days....also looks like you have photos of wax palms in Corcora valley.

I think of Colombia as a dangerous place (Drug Lords & all that) rightly or wrongly.  It sure is beautiful though.  Sure enjoyed your photos.

Re: GX7 goes to Colombia

Great photos. I am currently on vacation in the Philippines with the exact same body and lens combo and it is an excellent travel kit. 20mm AF also doesn't bother me (especially when I previously owned Fuji cameras and the EOS M) and the images it produces are worth the extra few milliseconds.
