M3 Attached to Telescope Prime Focus - Shutter Won't Fire

I'm loving my little Canon EOS M3 camera and had hoped to also be able to use it with my telescope for astrophotography. The compact, lightweight form of the M3 make it a light load for the telescope drive and the APS-C sensor effectively boosts my focal length.

My first efforts, however, were unsuccessful. Using the Canon Mount Adapter with a telescope "nose piece" adapter to attach the camera to the telescope in place of an eyepiece (prime focus) I could not get the camera's shutter to fire! The camera was set to Manual operation, the LCD panel displayed a beautiful in-focus image, all seemed well but I could not record an image.

Anyone know what I may be missing here?

Hi

You need to change the settings under the C.Fn menu III (2) to allow the camera to fire without a lens attached to the camera.

HI; in your menu go to C, fn5, others and set 'Release shutter without lens' to On. You might want to reverse this when you change back to a regular lens.

Actually you can just leave the setting afterwards.  It doesn't hurt anything.
