The XF14 looks good
6

Am not a pro and this is the first time I take it out along with the tripod to check a few locations I used to shoot from to find out if the equivalent 21mm would be enough to frame my scene, no artistic intent nor a tech review, just made a walk along the seashore to take a few test shots and it seems the lens is quite sharp from corner to corner, I am still waiting for some nice sky to go and give it a tougher test but I gotta say that next time I will be very likely leave the D800 home (until I don't get a wide angle F bayonet lens )

My 14 is the second most used lens that I have!

I thought wide angle to be boring but I found it being fun and interesting to experience and this thing is damn sharp, I am rethinking about getting a 20mm for my D800...

Re: The XF14 looks good

That's a beautiful shot.

While I don't use my 14 much, no way would I get rid of it - far too good a lens that I'm glad to pick up and use when I want. Great lens in a very small and light package.

The 16 end of the 16-55mm f2.8 is a chip off the 14's block, follows that IQ tradition. Great lens in a rather large and heavy package, though

Re: The XF14 looks good

Nice shots!

I traditionally haven't been a wide angle shooter and recently picked up the 14mm XF. I love it !!! It's a fantastic little lens with hardly any distortion.

I sold my D800e long ago and don't miss it.

What's really handy for the down low close to the ground perspective that's nice with the 14mm is a camera body with tilt screen. I picked up a mint used X-A1 real cheap. Goes well with the 14mm.

You will not find a 20/21mm prime for Nikon F(any vintage) that combines all of the the good properties of the Fujifilm 14mm.

The Nikon 14-24 zoom at 21mm is pretty good, but look at it's size.

Meh I'm quite fond of the 20mm F1.8, many others are pretty smitten as well.
