Brilliant, well done Vass, a really nice series. I have not managed to get any while they were catching insects but will keep trying now that I have seen yours. Couple of mine attached taken with the 75-300ii.

Re: Gorgeous birds and shots

Thank you Danny
I appreciate all your kind comments and your like of my work, same can be said the other way around from me.
If you ever come to Sydney area you can annoy me for sure, just come in the warmer half of the cycle for the fairy-wrens to be in their full breeding plumage. Probably best in the not so hot part of that too as the heat and humidity here can get one sweating hard with camera gear.

One day I plan to come to NZ actually, It's just and awesome looking place.

Thanks and cheers again

Some great behavior shots there Vas and the other shots are also stunning. One day I'm coming over there to annoy you mate You are fast becoming one of my favorite bird shooters and the gear used doesn't come into it or the format. Fantastic shots and been going over your flickr site again, stunning work Vas.

I would love to see these little beauties and have a crack at them. They are gorgeous for sure. Such a diversity you have with birds and the colours of them in Aussie.

All the best Vas, again top shots and work. Loving it !!

Danny.

Re: Gorgeous birds and shots

Hi Danny,

Follow this link to the West Australian Birds Facebook page to get some idea of the diversity of birds in just Western Australia.  Come over some time, Auckland-Perth is a 7-hour flight on the 787.

The non-breeding males in the family group start to develop the brilliant plumage, then lose it as the season progresses. They then look very similar to the Jenny wrens. Endlessly fascinating processes in Nature ...
