You are reading my mind....was going to ask about this one and then I saw your post. What are advantages of it?

Thanks all for posting here.

Re: 18-200mm

Epically fast voice coil motor (also makes focus very quiet), large focal range so that you don't need to switch lenses much.

Disadvantages: softer than the 50-200 in the overlapping range (reportedly at least, but the sample size of reports on this lens is quite small), the VCM eats through batteries.

Dissent and decent mean quite different things

Thanks for pointing out. I will be more careful in the future, and I add the word "dissent" in my vocabulary!

NX1 Pro: what is in

They should, as they cost as much as all the other lenses together!

Sorry, I didn't know that the Pro stands for the NX1+16-50S kit.

The NX Pro version includes: NX1 camera body, NX1+16-50mm F2.0-2.8 S, battery grip, battery, battery charger, and the extra battery which is a nice kit all together, however on an expensive side.

If you are waiting for these 2, then you don't have to worry, except if you are an experienced photo/video-grapher and you know that you need something specific.

These are easily the 2 best lenses for your camera.

The 18-200 had mixed reviews (and with mixed, I mean bad!) but I know nothing about this lens, but it is covered by your 2 S lenses which they will be far better and faster than the 18-200.

Maybe a 12mm Samyang which is manual focus, but quite wide, to have most things in focus anyway, the aforementioned 12-24 of course, and maybe the fish eye is a good idea, but it is a fish eye lens, so it is for very specific situations; but then again it adds a fun factor to your videos.

your 16-50 is 24mm wide (FF equiv.) and the 12mm is 18mm (FF equiv.), so they have quite a difference in the wide end. It depends of your style, either way you don't have many options at the tele range, as only the 50-200 has more reach than your 50-150, and it is not even close to the S (even though I own it, and I think it is a dissent lens, but I would never use it if I had the 50-150S). So you can't go further, you only can go wider (look above about the 12mm ones and the fisheye)!

I am sure you will really enjoy your kit and you will take many fine photos and videos.

Confused with OIS or DIS in video production

Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience here.

A bit of topic here, but can someone enlighten me about which "stabilization system" is better in a video recording.
I know that both systems are present on NX1 (DIS was introduced with the last fm); while I have some ideas how the OIS works, no idea of the DIS.

Is it okay to use them both, or not?

Coming from Sony HDR-SR12, I never had a chance to use one, instead I invested in a really good tripod that helped me stabilize the camera.

I should buy one for this cam, but that is the project for next spring I think.

Re: Confused with OIS or DIS in video production

Nx1 samples the whole sensor and then down scales to 4k. DIGITAL IS works by detecting camera movement and sampling a different portion of sensor (as sensor typically has more resolution than needed for 4k) to maintain relative stability. On most cameras this involves loss of effective resolution as it happens after the camera already has 4k frame. On nx1 it happens prior to down sampling so there is IIRC no resolution loss. That said any DIS induces cropping so it reduces angle of view.

There are plenty of examples on YouTube.

Thanks, will check it as it is very interesting function to use. Thanks Samsung for giving this to us.
