NX1/NX500 - AF Speed with a NX1100 lens - Newby Doubts

I got this very newby question. I got the Nx1100, with its kit lens (20-50mm). I wonder If I buy the NX1, or the Nx500, just the body, what can I expetc if I use the same lens, on them, in terms of AF speed? Is it still slow and noisy? Because of the lens?

I will eventually buy a new lens, but I'm affraid of investing further in Samsung.

By the way, is a Samsung NX1/NX500 sucessor, completely, out of the question? Is it going to be a price drop on these cameras, and lenses?

If you are buying nx500 there is little reason not to buy a lot lens as well (it's like 50 euro difference). 16-50 pz is very fast to focus, quiet as well, with optical image stabilization and much wider on the wide end than your, and mine, 20-50. Let's face it, when using 4k on nx500 and 20-50 your widest would be ~50mm equivalent. Not very wide...

Regarding af speed, the difference between 45 and 20-50 even on NX1000 is really noticeable. In low light 45 locks with no problems quite quickly and 20-50 searches by in the end gives up. In good light 45 finds focus at least twice as fast as 20-50. It's also quiet while focusing.

The NX1 indeed works with the 20 -50 . The multiplier for FOV is 1.5 so equivalent of 30mm on Full Frame . The lens is still slow to focus and it does not have IS. However it is more than capable to be worked with and produce outstanding images.

It is not a given that this is the end of the Samsung NX line. Although a mere Samsung representative has no legal standing, it appears that the NX50 will be released at CES in Los  Vegas in January. Even if that is not the case, seeing what they do in less than 2 months will speak far more than the rumors we are suffering now.
