I was lucky to be one of the beta-testers of these two marvelous little beasts. The announcement date is Nov16.

And which of the two did you prefer & why?

Potential downsides of each?

Is high ISO improved a bit? Is new kit lens coming? Thank you.

I mean due to BSI sensor - is it at least +0.5 stop better now?

Is any new kit lens coming? Please share your thoughts? Much appreciated!

I really liked A7000, lots of customization options and very good ergonomic design. A6100 is a good update for A6000 users who don't need extra features.

For me, the uncompressed raw for the a6000 is incredible news enough. The rest is pretty exciting too. Let's hope it's for real.

Yeap high ISO is quite improved, I'd say by 2/3 of a stop. There will be weather-sealed new lenses, including a new weather-sealed 16-50 kit lens, but not at launch. I had the opportunity to try the weather-sealed prototype of the 16-50 kit lens, it seems to have the same optical performance as the current 16-50 but it needs a filter for weather sealing to work.

The new firmware adds not only uncompressed RAW support, but also some new cool stuff, like full PDAF support for lenses like Sigma's.

Do you happen to know if that only applies to native E mount lenses, or also for a mint lenses via an adapter?

Also any chance of ibis?

If this is true then wow
Anything about auto iso minimum shutter speed?

No IBIS in A6100/A7000. I didn't have the opportunity to test lenses on adapters. But the full PDAF works really brilliantly with E-mount non-Sony lenses like Sigma 19/30/60.

So 10 hours ago you decided to join and post these specs that no one else has or no one else will talk about.

I am calling BS, I'll apologize on 11/16 if you're right.

I'm secretly being skeptical, to spare myself from any future public apology.

It's too bad that they didn't come out with a better kit lens. The quality of the current one is "controversial", to put it politely.

This is a fake.

This b/astard fooled some of us momentarily, but it's over now. I'm sure Sony has A6K successor and we might see it announced in November, but this specs are fake.

I guess there are three options:

1. He is making this stuff up, but clearly knows enough to know what is broadly plausible and what is not, such that even if the final specs are different he is probably going to get enough correct to claim partial success.

2. He is who he claims and will get fired very soon for breaking his NDA. I can't imagine that it would be too difficult for Sony to identify him.

3. He is correct with the specs and is posting with permission from Sony who are effectively doing a bit of informal pre-announcement market research and/or get a bit more hype for the announcement. I don't know enough about marketing to know if it is more effective to have a genuine 'surprise' announcement or a 'surprise-but-not-really-a-surprise' announcement.
