After owning the original 85L, I recently upgraded to the second version. Like it's predecessor, it is heavy, rather slow AF but I almost exclusively focus manually but the images are beautiful. I specialize in food images and had used the 50L a great deal until I bought the 85L. The focal length is useful, allows for a nice fall off of the background, beautiful color and contrast. My only wish is for just a little closer minimum focus distance. All said, this lens will pay for itself in a short period of time.
