Fall Fun in the Backyard with the grandson and the NX500

Boy I wish my 7DII had this much DR! I just got the 45mm today and it is a keeper. Rivals the 75mm f/1.8 on the Oly side. Hope you enjoy these as much as I did taking them! All shots are with the 45mm.

Thanks for sharing! When I made the switch to NX, I didn't even realize the big DR boost I'd be getting (over m43). That was just an added bonus.

Really great shots, Leah. What a lovely kid and pretty dog! I think I can see you in your red jacket/sweater as a clear reflection in the dog's eyes - sharp lens! Glad to hear you like the 45, it's a great piece of glass, also for portraits. And of course the NX500 is quite a wolf in a sheep's coat, a superb little cam.

Thanks for showing us these!

First one is absolutely stunning. Perfect focus and excellent color and contrast. Samsung should buy that photo. Pictures like that really sell their gear.

Thanks everyone...

I appreciate the kind words, thank you.  I did find the Micro 4/3rds Oly E-M1 also had more DR than my 7DII, but the NX is even better.

That's my 11yo dog Gidget (Pom-Sheltie mix) and that is me in my red fuzzy jacket in her eyes (8

Re: Fall Fun in the Backyard with the grandson and the NX500

Hi, very nice shots. For me the first and the last are the best. I do not know if my monitor is bad calibrated, but the other fotos are imho a bit to bright and specially picture #4 has a yelloish tone in the face of the child.

best regards

Yes, those do look overexposed...

I think you're right. In #3-4 the The sun was on it's way down, harsh, and almost directly at his back. I added .6 exp. comp. so his face wouldn't be shadowed. I think .6 was too much, but it did need some. I don't think his yellow jacket and all the golden leaves helped in #4 either.

All the shots were pretty much out of camera .jpgs (10 or 11 quality) with a little sharpening and most are full size. Oh, I did clone some sand/chocolate from his face.

The shot below is the same exact position as shot number 3 without the exp. comp.

And here's one from inside before we went out. Liam and his football men...
