No E-M1 listed in the newest B&H catalog

I posted this over in the Olympus SLR Talk Forum, but meant to post it here.

I just got the newest B&H catalog in the mail, and noticed that it lists only four Olympus m4/3's cameras -- E-PL6, E-PL7, OMD E-M10 mkll, and OMD E-M5 mkll. There is no E-M1 listed, which seems odd since their website still shows the E-M1 available, and it is still considered Oly's top tier model.

I would be curious as to their reason for leaving it out of the catalog.

I'm curious, too. Maybe it's a hint that the E-M1 replacement will be along sooner than we expected. All guesses I've seen say the new model will come out for Photokina next Fall. But, hope SPRINGS eternal.

I'm not even sure why they still put out a printed catalog, LOL.

It's a mistake, pure and simple.

Not sure but from my semi faulty recollection, the catalog is usually missing models of many mfrs and is an incomplete list.

I think they charge the mfrs to be included, so which models get featured depends on support from the mfr. If they still follow this practice, then the exclusion of the E-M1 may be a sign.

A SIGN for 6months. As that is period you want to smooth the sales before new model, when a model refreshment is 2-3 years. If it is a yearly, then 3-1 months is the time. And if example looking apple sales statics, the peak hits the release and 6 months after than when it goes down as new expected model is coming out.

Re: No E-M1 listed in the newest B&H catalog

Considering the tremendous heft of the B&H toy book catalog I'd chalk it up to editorial miscue and not read anything further into it. Now, if they list the 300/4 with full specs and a price, then maybe they know something we don't.

Cheers,

Rick
